About IDC Staff Instructor Training

The PADI IDC Staff Instructor course provides a fresh outlook on scuba training and can revitalize your approach and enthusiasm towards teaching after having worked as an instructor for a few years. This course helps you view your own teaching style in a new way and guides you through the steps of coaching and mentoring other dive professionals to help them excel.

Shadowing an entire IDC as an experienced instructor is an extremely positive learning experience and gives you a unique perspective. You can learn a lot from the presentations and practical application sessions, and you will find yourself applying this new perspective to your teaching right away. In addition, you will gain the qualifications to teach new courses, which can keep your job interesting and refreshing. The IDC Staff Instructor rating is awarded to PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainers who have completed the IDC Staff Instructor course, and they are authorized to teach PADI Assistant Instructor courses and staff instructor development programs.

The IDC Staff Instructor course is led by a seasoned PADI Course Director and must be conducted in conjunction with an IDC as it involves auditing the entire program. The course focuses on teaching candidates how to evaluate knowledge development, confined water and open water teaching presentations, and familiarizing them with the IDC curriculum. This is a comprehensive way to refresh your knowledge of standard changes and new teaching techniques.
